Temple Dual-Degree Program Extended Study Student Fee Standards – Student Information Session Materials

Explanation:
When the program was first established, no fee standards for extended study students were set. This document now establishes such standards to provide a clear basis for future fee collection.

Proposed Fee Standards for Extended Study Students:
a. If courses are taken at Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), fees will be collected in accordance with Article 2 of the CYCU Regulations on the Collection of Tuition, Miscellaneous, and Credit Fees. The fee standard shall follow that of the College of Business (excluding the Department of Management Information Systems).
b. If all courses are taken at Temple University, only student accident insurance fees will be charged.

CYCU Regulations on the Collection of Tuition, Miscellaneous, and Credit Fees – Article 2:
“Undergraduate students shall pay tuition, miscellaneous, and credit fees according to the following standards:

Undergraduate students shall pay the full tuition and miscellaneous fees. However:

Extended study students taking 10 credits or more shall pay the full tuition and miscellaneous fees.

Extended study students taking 9 credits or fewer shall pay credit fees based on the total number of credits registered that semester. If the total number of credits taken is 2 or fewer, the student shall still pay at least the equivalent of 2 credits.

Undergraduate students who pay full tuition and miscellaneous fees in a given semester may take courses from the master’s or in-service master’s programs without additional charges.

Undergraduate extended study students who do not pay full tuition and miscellaneous fees during their extended study period shall pay credit fees as follows:
(1) For undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses, credit fees shall follow the undergraduate credit fee standard for that academic year.
(2) For in-service master’s program courses, credit fees shall be the higher of: the undergraduate credit fee standard of that academic year or the in-service master’s program credit fee standard of the offering department.
(3) Undergraduate students admitted in Academic Year 2012 (101) or later who have completed all required courses in their department but have not yet passed CYCU’s English proficiency requirement must still register and pay miscellaneous fees equivalent to 2 credits during their extended study period, even if they are not enrolled in courses. If they later pass the English proficiency test within the semester and apply for their diploma:

  • Before the first day of classes: full refund.
  • After the first day of classes but within one-third of the semester: two-thirds refund.
  • After one-third but within two-thirds of the semester: one-third refund.
  • After two-thirds of the semester: no refund.

Undergraduate students enrolled in the Teacher Education Program must also pay additional credit fees according to regulations.”

Extended study students: NT$1,340 per credit.

Full tuition and miscellaneous fees: NT$46,630.
