As a board member of the Taiwanese Student Association, I and other team members helped plan and participate in a variety of fun cultural exchange events. One of the highlights was the Pan Asian Festival, where we collaborated with the Philippine, Indonesian, and other student associations. Each group prepared its own traditional foods and mini-games. Our Taiwanese stall—featuring braised tofu(滷豆乾) and scallion pancakes(蔥油餅)—was a huge hit and sold out in no time! Through sharing food, we were able to introduce Taiwan’s culture to even more students.

We also organized fundraising events, setting up tables in front of the Student Center to sell handmade bubble tea, stir-fried instant noodles, and scallion pancakes. It was a great way to help our classmates experience and fall in love with the flavors of Taiwan. Using food as a form of cultural diplomacy, we brought a taste of Taiwan directly into campus life.

Being part of the student association not only helped me meet friends from all over the world, but also taught me how to communicate, divide tasks, and handle unexpected challenges during event planning. These cross-cultural experiences strengthened our teamwork and deepened our understanding of different cultures—giving me far more growth than I ever anticipated.
